Affin Hwang aiming for RM50b asset target



MELAKA, Oct 30 —Affin Hwang Asset Management Bhd (Affin Hwang AM) targets to grow its assets under management (AUM) to RM50 billion in 2018 from the current RM30 billion.

“Each of the states has different targets, the biggest assets are in Kuala Lumpur, our key market, at RM27 billion,” Managing Director Teng Chee Wai told reporters after the opening of Affin Hwang Capital’s Melaka branch, its seventh, by state Corporate Affairs, Human Resources and NGOs Committee chairman Datuk Amirudin Yusof.

Teng said Affin Hwang Am aims to grow its assets in Melaka to RM1 billion by 2018 from the current RM200 million, and plans to open branches in Kuantan, Terengganu and Sabah.

“We plan to open a branch in Sabah either in Sandakan or Tawau to add to the present branch in Kota Kinabalu,” he said.

Since its inception in 2001, Affin Hwang AM has achieved an exponential growth in its AUM. IJM Construction Sdn Bhd bags RM484 million contract from UEM Land Bhd


PETALING JAYA, January 15 : IJM Corp Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary IJM Construction Sdn Bhd has been awarded a main building works contract valued at RM484.2 million by UEM Land Bhd.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, it said the project involves structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical, associated external and landscaping works for Phases 1A and 1B of the proposed mixed-use development known as Almas in Puteri Harbour, Johor.

Phase 1A comprises a two-level basement car park, a five-level elevated car park, one level of recreational facilities and one 34-storey tower of executive suites. Phase 1B comprises a five-level elevated car park and two office tower blocks.

The contract sums for Phases 1A and 1B are RM240.35 million and RM243.85 million and the completion period is 34 months and 25 months, respectively.

With large castle grounds and a variety of buildings, Kumamoto Castle offers its visitors one of the most complete castle experiences in Japan. The volcano smokes constantly, and minor eruptions often take place multiple times per day. Located in the middle of Kagoshima Bay, Sakurajima is the area’s most prominent geographic feature, having an elevation of 1117 meters and a circumference of about 50 kilometers. Next, visit to 【Sengan-En: enjoy DIY Japanese Mo-cha green tea 】The residence was originally built in 1658 along with the rest of the garden, but the current building mostly dates back to a reconstruction of the mid-1880s. After the end of the feudal age, the Iso Residence became the main residence of the Shimazu family, and its rooms are preserved in the way they were used in the 1890s. After that, proceed to 【Shiroyama Park- view Sakura Jima Bay】 (Shiroyama Kōen) is a park in downtown Kagoshima that extends over Mount Shiroyama. With an elevation of 107 meters, the mountain formerly served as the site of a castle fortification, which led to its name. Shiroyama literally means “castle mountain” in Japanese. The castle’s former grounds at the base of the mountain now serve as the site of the Reimeikan Museum. Next, visit to 【Lake Ikeda (Observation Platform) 】Lake Ikeda is the biggest lake in Kyushu. It is 15km around and with depths of 233 meters. It was created by an active volcano almost 5500 years ago. The deep water is a clear blue with a vantage of “Satsuma Fuji” Mt. Kaimon. Attractions include about 250 shops, cafes and restaurants, a theater, game center, cinemas, two hotels and a canal running through the complex. The city was built slightly inland from Hakata, whose port was one of the main points of interaction between Japan and mainland Asia. Although the imperial court ruled the country from the Kansai Region, Dazaifu was pivotal for Japan’s diplomatic relations and organizing the country’s defenses. After that, visit to 【Moji Port Scenery】was one of five cities that merged to form Kitakyushu City in 1963. It is the closest municipality of Kyushuin proximity to Honshu. Moji Port (Mojikō) has been prominent as an international trading port since the late 19th century.
